Chapter 1, Verse 1
धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः | मामकाः पाण्डवाश्चैव किमकुर्वत सञ्जय || 1 ||
Dhratrastra said: Sañjaya, gathered on the sacred soil of Kuruksetra, eager to fight, what did my children and the children of Pandu do?
Chapter 1, Verse 2
दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दुर्योधनस्तदा | आचार्यमुपसंगम्य राजा वचनमब्रवीत् || 2 ||
Sañjaya said: At that time, seeing the army of the Pandavas drawn up for battle and approaching Dronacarya King Duryodhana spoke these words:
Chapter 2, Verse 72
एषा ब्राह्मी स्थिति: पार्थ नैना प्राप्य विमुञ्चति । स्थित्वास्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मानिर्वाणमृच्छति ॥७२॥
Arjuna, such is the state of the God-realized soul; having reached this state, he overcomes delusion. And established in this state, even at the last moment, he attains Brahmic Bliss. (72)
Chapter 11, Verse 55
मत्तकर्मकृत्मत्परमो मद्भक्तः संगवर्जितः | निर्वैरः सर्वभूतेषु यः स मामेति पाण्डव ॥५५॥
Arjuna, he who performs all his duties for My sake, depends on Me, is devoted to Me; has no attachment, and is free from malice towards all beings, reaches Me.
Chapter 6, Verse 47
योगिनामपि सर्वेषां मद्गतेनान्तरात्मना । श्रद्धवान्भजते यो मां स मे युक्ततमो मतः ॥४७॥
Of all Yogis, again, he who devoutly worship Me with his mind focussed on Me is considered by Me to be the best Yogi.
Chapter 3, Verse 43
एवं बुद्धे परं बुद्ध्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना। जहि शत्रुं महाबाहो कामरूपं दुरासदम्॥४३॥
Thus, Arjuna, knowing that which is higher than the intellect and subduing the mind by reason, kill this enemy in the form of Desire that is hard to overcome.
