अथैतदप्यशक्तोऽसि कर्तुं मद्योगमाश्रितः | सर्वकर्मफलत्यागं ततः कुरु यतात्मवान् ॥११॥
Hindi Translation
यदि मेरी प्राप्ति रूप योग के आश्रित होकर उपयुक्त साधन को करने में भी तू असमर्थ है तो मन-बुद्धि आदि पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाला होकर सब कर्मों के फल का त्याग कर ॥११॥
English Translation
If, taking recourse to the Yoga of My realization, you are unable even to do this, then, subduing your mind and intellect etc., relinquish the fruit of all actions.

श्रेयो हि ज्ञानमभ्यासाज्ज्ञानाद्ध्यानं विशिष्यते । ध्यानात्कर्मफलत्यागस्त्यागाच्छान्तिरनन्तरम् ॥१२॥
Hindi Translation
मर्मको न जानकर किये हुए अभ्यास से ज्ञान श्रेष्ठ है, ज्ञान से मुझ परमेश्वर के स्वरूप का ध्यान श्रेष्ठ है और ध्यान से भी सब कर्मों के फल का त्याग श्रेष्ठ है; क्योंकि त्याग से तत्काल ही परम शान्ति होती है ॥१२॥
English Translation
Knowledge is better than practice (without discernment), meditation on God is superior to knowledge, and renunciation of the fruit of actions is even superior to meditation; for peace immediately follows from renunciation. (12.12)

अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्रः करुण एव च । निर्ममो निरहंकारः समदुःखसुखः क्षमी ॥१३॥
Hindi Translation
जो पुरुष सब भूतों में द्वेषभाव से रहित, स्वार्थरहित, सबका प्रेमी और हेतु रहित दयालु है तथा ममता से रहित, अहंकार से रहित, सुख-दुःखों की प्राप्ति में सम और क्षमावान् है अर्थात अपराध करने वाले को भी अभय देने वाला है;
English Translation
He who is free from malice towards all beings, friendly and compassionate, rid of 'I'

Sanskrit
संतुष्टः सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चयः | मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥१४॥
Hindi Translation
तथा जो योगी निरन्तर संतुष्ट है, मन-इन्द्रियों सहित शरीर को वश में किये हुए है और मुझमें दृढ़ निश्चय वाला है—वह मुझमें अर्पण किये हुए मन-बुद्धि वाला मेरा भक्त मुझको प्रिय है ॥ १३-१४ ॥
English Translation
Contented, ever steadfast in yoga, self-controlled, firm in determination, with mind and intellect dedicated to Me, he is dear to Me.

15
Sanskrit
यस्मान्नोद्विजते लोको लोकान्नोद्विजते च यः । हर्षामर्षभयोद्वेगैर्मुक्तो यः स च मे प्रियः ॥१५॥
Hindi Translation
जिससे कोई भी जीव उद्वेग को प्राप्त नहीं होता और जो स्वयं भी किसी जीव से उद्वेग को प्राप्त नहीं होता; तथा जो हर्ष, अमर्ष, भय और उद्वेगादि से रहित है—वह भक्त मुझको प्रिय है ॥१५॥
English Translation
He who is not a source of annoyance to his fellow-creatures, and who in his turn does not feel vexed with fellow-creatures, and who is free from delight and envy perturbation and fear, is dear to Me. (15)

अनपेक्षः शुचिर्दक्ष उदासीनो गतव्यथः । सर्वारम्भपरित्यागी यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥१६॥
Hindi Translation
जो पुरुष आकांक्षा से रहित, बाहर-भीतर से शुद्ध, चतुर, पक्षपात से रहित और दुःखों से छूटा हुआ है—वह
English Translation
He who is free from desires, pure, expert, indifferent to pain and pleasure, and who has renounced all undertakings, is dear to Me. (16)

Sanskrit
यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति । शुभाशुभपरित्यागी भक्तिमान्यः स मे प्रियः ॥१७॥
Hindi Translation
जो न कभी हर्षित होता है, न द्वेष करता है, न शोक करता है, न कामना करता है तथा जो शुभ और अशुभ सम्पूर्ण कर्मों का त्यागी है—वह भक्ति युक्त पुरुष मुझको प्रिय है ॥१७॥
English Translation
He who neither rejoices nor hates, nor grieves, nor desires and who renounces both good and evil actions and is full of devotion, is dear to Me.

18
Sanskrit
समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च तथा मानापमानयोः । शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु समः सङ्गविवर्जितः ॥१८॥
Hindi Translation
जो शत्रु-मित्र में और मान-अपमान में सम है तथा सर्दी, गरमी और सुख-दुःख आदि द्वन्द्वों में सम है और आसक्ति से रहित है ॥१८॥
English Translation
He who is alike to friend and foe, as well as to honour and ignominy, who remains balanced in heat and cold, pleasure and pain and other contrary experiences, and is free from attachment. (12.18)

तुल्यनिन्दास्तुतिमौनी संत्वष्टो येन केनचित्। अनेकितः स्थिरमतिभक्तिमान्म्ने प्रियो नरः॥१९॥
Hindi Translation
जो निन्दा-स्तुति को समान समझने वाला, मननशील और जिस किसी प्रकार से भी शरीर का निर्वाह होने में सदा ही संतुष्ट है और रहने के स्थान में ममता और आसक्ति से रहित है—वह स्थिर बुद्धि भक्तिमान् पुरुष मुझको प्रिय है॥१९॥
English Translation
He who takes praise and reproach alike, and is given to contemplation and contented with any means of subsistence whatsoever, entertaining no sense of ownership and attachment in respect of his dwelling place and full of devotion to Me, that man is dear to Me.

20
Sanskrit
ये तु धर्म्यमृतमिदं यथोक्तं पर्युपासते । श्रद्धधाना मतपरमा भक्तास्तेति मे प्रियाः ॥२०॥
Hindi Translation
परन्तु जो श्रद्धायुक्त पुरुष मेरे परायण होकर इस ऊपर कहे हुए धर्ममय अमृत को निःकाम प्रेम भाव से सेवन करते हैं, वे भक्त मुझको अतिशय प्रिय हैं ॥२०॥
English Translation
Those devotees, however, who partake in a disinterested way of this nectar of pious wisdom set forth above, endowed with faith and solely devoted to Me, they are extremely dear to me.
