11
Sanskrit
देवान्भावयतानेन ते देवा भावयन्तु वः। परस्परं भावयन्तः श्रेयः परमवाप्स्यथ॥११॥
Hindi Translation
तुम लोग इस यज्ञ के द्वारा देवताओं को उन्नत करो और वे देवता तुम लोगों को उन्नत करें। इस प्रकार निःस्वार्थभाव से एक-दूसरे को उन्नत करते हुए तुम लोग परम कल्याण को प्राप्त हो जाओगे॥११॥
English Translation
Foster the gods through this (sacrifice), and let the gods be gracious to you. Each fostering other disinterestedly, you will attain the highest good.

इष्टान्भोगान्देवा दास्यन्ते यज्ञभाविताः। तेर्दत्तानप्रदायैथो यो भुक्ते स्तेन एव सः॥१२॥
Hindi Translation
यज्ञ के द्वारा बढ़ाये हुए देवता तुम लोगों को बिना माँगे ही इच्छित भोग निश्चित ही देते रहेंगे। इस प्रकार उन देवताओं के द्वारा दिये हुए भोगों को जो पुरुष उनको बिना दिये स्वयं भोगता है, वह चोर ही है॥१२॥
English Translation
Fostered by sacrifice, the gods will surely bestow on you unasked all the desired enjoyments. He who enjoys the gifts bestowed by them, without giving them in return, is undoubtedly a thief.

यज्ञशिष्टाशिनः सन्तो मुच्यन्ते सर्वकिल्बिषेः। भुज्यते ते त्वयं पापा ये पचन्यात्मकारणात्॥१३॥
Hindi Translation
यज्ञ से बचे हुए अन्न को खाने वाले श्रेष्ठ पुरुष सब पापों से मुक्त हो जाते हैं और जो पापी लोग अपना शरीर पोषण करने के लिये ही अन्न पकाते हैं, वे तो पाप को खाते हैं॥१३॥
English Translation
The men who eat the remnants of sacrifices are freed from all sins; but those who cook food only for their own body’s nourishment eat sin.

अन्नाद्भवन्ति भूतानि पर्जन्याद्वसन्तं भवः | यज्ञाद्भवति पर्ज्ञो यज्ञः कर्मसमुद्भवः || १४ ||
Hindi Translation
सम्पूर्ण प्राणी अन्न से उत्पन्न होते हैं, अन्न की उत्पत्ति वर्षा से होती है, वर्षा यज्ञ से होती है।
English Translation
All beings are evolved from food; production of food is dependent on rain; rain ensues from sacrifice.

कर्म ब्रह्मोद्भवं विद्धि ब्रह्मास्रसमुद्भवम् | तस्मात्सर्वगतं ब्रह्म नित्यं यज्ञे प्रतिष्ठितम् || १५ ||
Hindi Translation
और यज्ञ विहित कर्मों से उत्पन्न होने वाला है। कर्म समुदाय को तू वेद से उत्पन्न और वेद को अविनाशी परमात्मा से उत्पन्न हुआ जान। इससे सिद्ध होता है कि सर्वव्यापी परम अक्षर परमात्मा सदा ही यज्ञ में प्रतिष्ठित है।
English Translation
And sacrifice is rooted in prescribed action. Know that prescribed action has its origin in the Vedas, and the Vedas proceed from the Indestructible (God); hence the all-pervading supreme imperishable Spirit is always established in sacrifice.

Sanskrit
एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह यः। अधायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति॥१६॥
Hindi Translation
हे पार्थ! जो पुरुष इस लोक में इस प्रकार परम्परा से प्रचलित सृष्टि चक्र के अनुकूल नहीं बरतता अर्थात् अपने कर्तव्य का पालन नहीं करता, वह इन्द्रियों के द्वारा भोगों में रमण करने वाला पापायु पुरुष व्यर्थ ही जीता है॥१६॥
English Translation
Arjuna, he who does not follow the wheel of creation thus set going in this world (i.e., does not perform his duties), sinful and sensual, he lives in vain.

Sanskrit
यस्त्वात्मरतिरेव स्यादात्मतृप्तश्च मानवः। आत्मन्येव च सन्तुष्टस्तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते॥१७॥
Hindi Translation
परन्तु जो मनुष्य आत्मा में ही रमण करने वाला और आत्मा में ही तृप्त तथा आत्मा में ही सन्तुष्ट हो उसके लिये कोई कर्तव्य नहीं है॥ १७॥
English Translation
He, however, who takes delight in the self alone and is gratified with the Self, and is contented in the self, has no duty. (17)

18
Sanskrit
नैव तस्य कृतेनार्थो नाकृतेनह कश्चन। न चास्य सर्वभूतेषु कश्चिदर्धव्यपाश्रयः॥१८॥
Hindi Translation
उस महापुरुष का इस विश्व में न तो कर्म करने से कोई प्रयोजन रहता है और न कर्मों के न करने से ही कोई प्रयोजन रहता है। तथा सम्पूर्ण प्राणियों में भी इसका किञ्चन्मात्र भी स्वार्थ का सम्बन्ध नहीं रहता॥१८॥
English Translation
In this world that great soul has no use whatsoever for things done nor for things not done; nor has he selfish dependence of any kind on any creature.

19
Sanskrit
तस्मादसक्तः सततं कार्यं कर्म समाचर। असक्तो ह्याचरन्कर्म परमाप्नोति पूरुषः॥१९॥
Hindi Translation
इसलिए तू निरंतर आसक्ति से रहित होकर सदा कर्तव्य कर्म को भलीभाँति करता रह। क्योंकि आसक्ति से रहित होकर कर्म करता हुआ मनुष्य परमात्मा को प्राप्त हो जाता है॥१९॥
English Translation
Therefore, go on efficiently doing your duty without attachment. Doing work without attachment man attains the Supreme. (19)

Sanskrit
कर्मणैव हि संसिद्धिमास्थिता जनकादयः। लोकसंग्रहमेवापि संपश्यन्कर्तुमर्हसि॥२०॥
Hindi Translation
जनकादि ज्ञानीजन भी आसक्ति रहित कर्मद्वारा ही परम सिद्धि को प्राप्त हुए थे। इसलिए तथा लोक संग्रह को देखते हुए भी तू कर्म करने को ही योग्य है अर्थात तुझे कर्म करना ही उचित है॥२०॥
English Translation
It is through action (without attachment) alone that Janaka and otherwise men reached perfection. Having an eye to maintenance of the world order too you should take to action. (20)
