41
Sanskrit
प्राप्य पुण्यकृतां लोकानुशित्वा शाश्वतीः समाः । शुचीनां श्रीमन्तां गेहे योगभ्रष्टोऽभिजायते ॥४१॥
Hindi Translation
योगभ्रष्ट पुरुष पुण्यवानों के लोकों को अर्थात् स्वर्गादि उत्तम लोकों को प्राप्त होकर, उनमें बहुत वर्षों तक निवास करके फिर शुद्ध आचरण वाले श्रीमान् पुरुषों के घर में जन्म लेता है॥४१॥
English Translation
Having attained the worlds of the righteous, the virtuous dwell there for a long time, and then the fallen yogi is born again in the house of the pure and prosperous. (41)

42
Sanskrit
अथवा योगिनामेव कुले भवति धीमताम् । एतद्विदुर्लभतरं लोके जन्म यदीदृशम् ॥४२॥
Hindi Translation
अथवा वैराग्यवान् पुरुष उन लोकों में न जाकर ज्ञानवान् योगियों के ही कुल में जन्म लेता है। परन्तु इस प्रकार का जो यह जन्म है सो संसार में निःसन्देह अत्यन्त दुर्लभ है ॥४२॥
English Translation
Or (if he is possessed of dispassion) he is born in the family of enlightened Yogis; but such a birth in this world is very difficult to obtain.

तत्र तं बुद्धिसंयोगं लभते पौवेदीहिकम् । यतते च ततो भूयः संसिद्धौ कुरुनन्दन ॥४३॥
Hindi Translation
तत्र वह बुद्धि-संयोग (योग-ज्ञान) प्राप्त करता है, जो पूर्वजन्मों के पुण्य कर्मों का फल है। और फिर वह पुनः परिश्रम करता है, हे कुरुनन्दन, पूर्ण सिद्धि के लिए।
English Translation
There he attains the union of intellect, born of the merits of past lives; and then he strives again, O Kurunandana, for perfection.

Sanskrit
पूर्वाभ्यासेन तेनैव हियते हव्यशोऽपि सः। जिज्ञासुरपि योगस्य शब्दब्रह्मातिवर्तते॥४४॥
Hindi Translation
वह श्रीमानों के घर में जन्म लेने वाला योगभृष्ट पराधीन हुआ भी उस पहले के अभ्यास से ही निस्संदेह भगवान की ओर आकर्षित किया जाता है, तथा समबुद्धि रूप योग का जिज्ञासु भी वेद में कहे हुए सकामकर्मों के फल को उल्लंघन कर जाता है॥४४॥
English Translation
The other one (who takes birth in a rich family), though under the sway of his senses, feels drawn towards God by force of the habit acquired in his previous birth; nay, even the seeker of enlightenment on Yoga (in the form of even-mindedness) transcends the fruit of actions performed with some interested motive as laid down in the vedas.

प्रयत्नादात्मनस्तु योगी संशुद्धकिल्बिषः | अनेकजन्मसंसिद्धस्ततो याति परं गतिम् || ४५ ||
Hindi Translation
परन्तु प्रयत्नपूर्वक अभ्यास करने वाला योगी तो पिछले अनेक जन्मों के संस्कार बल से इसी जन्म में सं सिद्ध होकर सम्पूर्ण पापों से रहित हो फिर तत्काल ही परमगति को प्राप्त हो जाता है ॥ ४५ ॥
English Translation
The Yogi, however, who dilligently takes up the practice attains perfection in this very life with the help of latencies of many births, and being thoroughly purged of sin, forthwith reaches the supreme state.

Sanskrit
तपस्विभ्योऽधिको योगी ज्ञानीभ्योऽपि मतोऽधिकः | कर्मभ्यश्चाधिको योगी तस्माद्योगी भव अर्जुन || ४६ || माना गया है और सकामकर्म करने वालों से भी योगी श्रेष्ठ है; इससे है अर्जुन ! तू योगी हो ॥४६॥
Hindi Translation
योगी तपस्वियों से श्रेष्ठ है, शास्त्रज्ञानीयों से भी श्रेष्ठ माना गया है और सकामकर्म करने वालों से भी योगी श्रेष्ठ है; इससे है अर्जुन ! तू योगी हो ॥४६॥
English Translation
The yogi is superior to the ascetics; he is regarded as superior even to those versed in sacred lore. The Yogi is also superior to those who perform action with some interested motive. Therefore, Arjuna, do you become a Yogi.

47
Sanskrit
योगिनामपि सर्वेषां मद्गतेनान्तरात्मना । श्रद्धवान्भजते यो मां स मे युक्ततमो मतः ॥४७॥
Hindi Translation
सम्पूर्ण योगियों में भी जो श्रद्धावान् योगी मुझ में लगे हुए अन्तरात्मा से मुझ को निरन्तर भजता है, वह योगी मुझे परम श्रेष्ठ मान्य है ॥४७॥
English Translation
Of all Yogis, again, he who devoutly worship Me with his mind focussed on Me is considered by Me to be the best Yogi.
