Verse 1
Sanskrit
मद्ग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम् | यत्तयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोजं विगतो मम ॥१॥
Hindi Translation
अर्जुन बोले—मुझ पर अनुग्रह करने के लिये आपने जो परम गोपनीय अध्यात्मविषयक वचन अर्थात् उपदेश कहा, उससे मेरा यह अज्ञान नष्ट हो गया है ॥१॥
English Translation
Arjuna said: Thanks to the most profound words of spiritual wisdom that You have spoken out of kindness to me, this delusion of mine has entirely disappeared.

भावाप्ययो हि भूतानां श्रुतो विस्तरशो मया | ततः कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यमपि चाच्यम् ॥२॥
Hindi Translation
क्योंकि हे कमलनेत्र! मैंने आपसे भूतों की उत्पत्ति
English Translation
Because, O Lotus-eyed one, I have heard from you in detail about the origin of beings, and now I shall speak about your greatness.
