सर्वदारेषु देहेऽस्मिन् प्रकाश उपजायते । ज्ञानं यदा तदा विद्याद्विद्वद्दृढसत्त्वमुत ॥११॥
Hindi Translation
जिस समय इस देह में तथा अन्तःकरण और इन्द्रियों में चेतनता और विवेकशक्ति उत्पन्न होती है, उस समय ऐसा जानना चाहिये कि सत्त्वगुण बढ़ा है ॥११॥
English Translation
At the time when light arises in all the organs of the body, knowledge arises, and the wise one becomes firm in Sattva.

लोभः प्रवृत्तिरारम्भः कर्मणामशमः स्पृहा । राजस्येतानि जायन्ते विवृद्धे भरतर्षभ ॥१२॥
Hindi Translation
हे अर्जुन ! रजोगुण के बढ़ने पर लोभ प्रवृत्ति, स्वार्थ बुद्धि से कर्मों का सकाम भाव से आरम्भ, अशान्ति और विषय भोगों की लालसा—ये सब उत्पत्र होते हैं ॥ १२ ॥
English Translation
With the preponderance of Rajas, Arjuna, greed, activity, undertaking of actions with an interested motive, restlessness and a thirst for enjoyment make their appearance. (12)
