Verse 18
Sanskrit
यदा विनियतं चित्तमात्मन्येवावतिष्ठते । निष्पृहः सर्वकामेभ्यो युक्त इत्युच्यते तदा ॥१८॥
Hindi Translation
अत्यन्त वश में किया हुआ चित जिस काल में परमात्मा में ही भलीभांति स्थित हो जाता है, उस काल में सम्पूर्ण भोगों से रहित पुरुष योगयुक्त है, ऐसा कहा जाता है ॥१८॥
English Translation
When the mind which is thoroughly disciplined gets riveted on God alone, then the person who is free from yearning for all enjoyments is said to be established in Yoga. (6.18)

Sanskrit
यथा दीपो निवातस्थो नैङ्गते सोपमा स्मृता । योगिनो यतचित्तस्य युज्योतो योगमात्मनः ॥१९॥
Hindi Translation
जिस प्रकार वायुरहित स्थान में स्थित दीपक चलायमान नहीं होता, वैसी ही उपमा परमात्मा के ध्यान में लगे हुए योगी के जीते हुए चित की कही गयी है ॥१९॥
English Translation
As a light does not flicker in a windless place, such is stated to be the picture of the disciplined mind of the Yogi practising meditation on God.
